A cruise is a cruise is a cruise... Ya.. not really. Don't get me wrong, they definitely have their similarities, but make no mistake that they are all different in little and big ways. You can view their websites and watch their fun little commericials and visit the reservation sites, (even Cruise Critic), and hear how wonderful they all are, but wonderfull to them may not be wonderful to you. You need to keep in mind that they are all trying to sell you something.
With that said, it's not quite as simple as saying, this one is good and this one is bad. It is almost like a dating service. You need to find a cruise line that has a personality that matches your own and the people you are going with. The frat boys looking for some hot night life probably shouldn't go on Holland America that caters to an older crowd. Just as the older crowd probably isn't going to enjoy the family atmotspher of Carnival. There is nothing wrong with either one of them as long as it suits your lifestyle and priorities.
In order to do this, we are going to give you a couple different ways to find the cruise that suits you. The first is the dating service. We will ask you a couple questions about the experience you would like and it will lead you to the cruise line that is right for you. (that's the fun way to do it) The second one is the information list where you can go through each cruise line and just get a brief overview of their characteristics and traits. And the third is finding a cruise by location.
Regardless of which way you go, the single most important thing you will do in taking a cruise is to choose the right cruise line so take a little time. It's very easy to get excited and book one based off their website or commercials or deals, but in the end, you will have a lot more fun if you just spend a little time looking at all of your options and choosing one that fits your personality. |
