| Finding the Cheapest Flight (Search 2) |
The next flight I want to check on is the cheapest flight possible. For this, there is a couple options, but for now, I am going to head over to Bing Travel. It's very similar to Kayak & Fare Compare. (Fare Compare is my second option as it does a lot of the same things.)
This time though, we are looking for price, so we want to leave our options as open as possible, and this time, check a couple of the alternative sites at the bottom under "Compare Search" shown below. Why do this? Because Bing is searching the airlines and if you read the page "Flight Basics", you know that the biggest reason for price differenes is in how the different reservation sites will combine flights to get you where you want to go. Keep in mind, this only works if you are willing to have a connecting flight. If you have to have a direct flight, then Bing is going to give you the best price and there is no reason to search the other sites.

Once you have the results, there are a couple things we would like to do. First, as with Kayak, you want to use the side bar on the left to filter your search down and eliminate anything that is not even an option at any price savings. Then look at the "Price Predictor" circled below. Keep that advice in the back of your mind. If you can stand to take the chance, they paid a fortune for this technology for a reason, becuase it's right about 75% of the time. Being able to acurately predict if the price will go up or down is a huge advantage Bing has over the other sites.

| Review the flight options listed on Bing as well as the other optional sites you requested. (they should have opened seperate windows but may be behind the current window) Make a note of the the best option on the Flight Comparison Sheet. |

If you don't care for Microsoft, or just want to use a different site, there are plenty of great ones out there. Check out the list on the Travel Directory page. There is a link in the menu bar above. But keep in mind we will be looking at a couple others in the next step; Finding Alternative Flights. |
